Book tickets for the Alhambra

As it has a limited capacity, you should book tickets for the Alhambra before your visit, to guarantee yourself the opportunity to visit the monument. Each person can buy maximum ten tickets, from two hours up to three months before the scheduled trip to the Alhambra.

You can buy tickets either on the Internet, on the Alhambra tickets official website, or by calling (+34) 858 953 616. You will be charged a handling fee of €0.85.

You can choose the day of your visit, as well as the hour, starting from 8.30 am.

In the online process of reservation, you will be guided through different steps:

  1. Choose the type of visit you want to book (you can find details of each visit to the Alhambra below)
  2. Select “Buy tickets
  3. Select how many tickets you wish to buy. Remember to purchase tickets for every member of the family, even for those that don’t pay (younger than 12 old can access the Alhambra for free)
  4. Select the date when you’d like to visit the Alhambra. Keep in mind that tickets run out fastly; therefore, you’d better book your tickets at least two months prior to your scheduled visit of the Alhambra.
  5. Select the hour of the visit to the Nasrid Palaces. Remember that if you don’t show up on time, you will lose the right to access.
  6. Insert the details of the person that will pay for the tickets, as well as the following details of all the visitors:
    • Name
    • Surname
    • ID
    • Nationality
    • Age
    • Sex
  7. Select the payment method
  8. You will receive the tickets on your email
  9. Print your tickets and take them with you to visit the Alhambra. Keep them in good conditions, as the QR code and the information written on the tickets need to be readable.

If you prefer to book your tickets by calling, know that the operators speak Spanish and English. You will be asked to choose the hour of the visit to the Nasrid Palaces and you will receive your tickets in your email, which you will then have to print either at home or in the vending machine mentioned below.

Collect tickets for the Alhambra

Tickets can be collected:

  • in the vending machines located in the Entrance Pavilion of the Alhambra, with the reference number that appears in the purchase confirmation.
  • at the ticket offices of the Alhambra, upon showing the handout of the booking or the credit card used to make the purchase. You can also show your ID/passport if you have booked the tickets with your name. This procedure can cause unnecessary queues, so avoid using this method unless it’s extremely necessary.

If you have bought any tickets with special conditions, and therefore pay a reduced price, i.e. EU citizens older than 65 years old, people between 12 and 15 years old, owners of the European Youth Card (except for children less than 12 years old, who access for free), you’ll have to collect the tickets at the ticket offices of the Alhambra, upon showing a document (ID or passport) that entitles you to the discount.

Remember that the tickets have to be collected at least one hour before the scheduled visit to the Nasrid Palaces, as there’s 1-hour walk from the entrance to the Nasrid Palaces.
